Dt 177x or....

Should I go for the drop x beyer dt 177x go or instead choose an alternative from beyers catalog? The Dt 177x go will send me back ~405 Euro (including taxes) because there's a discount currently, they're just 380$. For Beyer products on the other hand I dont have to pay taxes and can take advantage of a 15% discount for students. So are there any similar priced beyerdynamics I should rather spend my money on? I have a powerful amp and a budget that can stretch to 500 Euro, if necessary.

Not an audiophile myself so my answer when faced with those kinds of prices is “you’re kidding”.  My opinion may not matter much though.  There are audiophile people here who may have useful data.  There aren’t too many though so this one may take a while to get answers for.  I council patience.  Might take as much as a few days for someone with knowledge to happen by.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.
