Bios updates

So was wondering about upgrading my 2400g (currently have a asrock b350 k4 mobo) to a 2600 or 2600x as I have gtx 1070 strix with low gpu usage so I’m assuming bottleneck just wondering will a bios update be required. I’m getting mixed answers some people saying yes I would require one and some people saying I wouldn’t need one 

 

my thought on it though is that I bought the computer originally with a 1050 ti as a prebuilt so since the computer came with a 2000 series cpu (2400g) it won’t need a bios update right for a 2600 or 2600x 

 

Need an answer before I make any purchases 

( just wanna get out of my bottleneck gameplay)

No i don't think you will need any update..

If you have P4.70, you don't. Go into the bios and check

Just don't update to 6.00 and higher

check the current BIOS revision to be sure, revision P4.70 and above will support the 2600.
