I set my account in windows 10 to device owner and im stuck

szymonszewcjr

i set my account to device owner and windows demands password from me for anything. I would be fine if only those password boxes on UAC showed up but they won't show. whatever i do with uac i cant get them to show up. I used W10 privacy and messed with few settings so that might be the issue, but i have no way to set it back to default because it needs admin rights which i can use because they require a password box to show up.

and yes i tried activating hidden admin via cmd from boot pendrive using net user administrator /active:yes

You tried to access the Administrator account the WRONG WAY!!!

I'll explain: If you try to activate the Administrator account through Recovery Environment, it will activate it so you can use it only in the Recovery Environment. Not the OS!

But do not drop that pendrive. I will explain the steps to get your account back...

1. Plug in that pendrive and boot into it

2. Get into Command Prompt

3. Type in: notepad.exe

4. Hold CTRL + O

5. Go to [Windows Installation Drive Letter]:\Windows\system32

6. Find Sethc.exe and move it to somewhere else (for a backup)

7. Copy cmd.exe and paste it in the same folder

8. Rename it to 'Sethc.exe'

9. Restart your computer, boot into Windows normally.

10. Go to the sign-in screen and click the accessibility icon

11. Then on the Command Prompt window, you can type in:net user administrator /active:yes

12. Restart your computer again and sign-in to the Administrator Account

13. Then when the desktop loads, hold CTRL + R

14. In the Run window, type: netplwiz

15. Set your account back to Administrator.

16. Sign out of the administrator account and sign-in to your account

Then you are back to your original desktop!

Note: I have been through this issue, so this is how it worked for me. You can trust me - no third-party software!

If that did not work, reset your computer using the pendrive
