Need help choosing monitor.

Hi guys, i need help deciding what monitor should i buy. For now i have two options, the "Asus 27" VG279QM - which is a 1080p | 280Hz |1m IPS panel" and "Asus 27" VG27WQ - 1440p | 165Hz | 1m VA panel". Both are around the price of 400€ here.

Since i am not really that much inside the monitor world i was looking for some opinions. Please bare in mind that i do kind of play some games seriously "semi-pro" level, like rocket league and trackmania. But i also play a lot of good visually games like Division 2 and so on. I also like to do some movie making on the side but not really that much currently.

 

My specs are: AMD 3900x, RTX 2080 Super, 32gb 3600, etc, etc...

I personally would go for the 1440p 165Hz monitor. But if you play the games on a competitive level then you should consider the 280Hz monitor with IPS panel. Also idk if the games you mentioned can reach 165 fps on 1440p so keep that in mind when choosing.
