So I'm thinking of upgrading my current system because I always seem to pussy out on my buys and try to go with cheap options which blow up in my face for example a 1-2 years ago i bought my cpu, i5 7600k, and about 2-3 years ago i bought my gpu, gtx 1060 gb, decent pc but i feel like its dying as even battlefront 2 is freeze framing. So I'm deciding to upgrade and need some suggestions

The cpu im currently going with is a ryzen 9 3900x and an RTX 2070 super, would go with 2080 but budget doesnt allow that :/ so those two are set in stone.

I'm in need of a mobo, ram and cpu cooler suggestion. I'm thinking of a B450 but not sure which kind as I hear you need to bios flash those and I have never done that before.

Ram im deciding between 16gb and 32gb, not sure which I should get, im leaning towards 16gb as 32 seems unnecessary but thats what I said 4 years ago when I built my first ever pc and got 8gb of ram and everything seemed to jump to needing 16gb.

CPU Cooler im hesitant on, I've always done air cooling because its reliable, cheap, and good for my needs. I never liked the thought of water in my pc because of leaking, whether it be AIO or custom, but I heard that companies like corsair have made it so that its super tight and are more likely to have a pump fail then water leak, but thats the other problem, what if the pump dies on me, I'm out of a cpu cooler :/

So if you have any suggestions for anything please let me know, I'm at about a 1300-1350 budget so if you can get better price to performance for me by switching the cpu and/or gpu and such, let me know. Thanks!

Edit: I'm also buying everything off amazon, I would buy off newegg but I have to specifically buy off amazon so send US Amazon links if you have any.

Higher end b450 motherboard, you don’t need to bios flash most of them any more.  Anything that says “3000 ready” on the box is fine.  2 sticks of 3600mhz cas 16 memory, (either size) some sort of sata6 ssd with cache (any amount)

overclocking is wasted on ryzen2. There is zero reason to go water on any but the very largest AMD CPUs (cost near a grand or more)

That cpu comes with a decent cooler to start with.  It’s only problem is the fan on it is single ball bearing so it’s eventually going to wear out.  Might as well get your use out of it though and look at another cooler when it wears out.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.
