So, screwed up pretty bad. CPU fan in my 17R4 started to go bad. Sounded like a bearing was going and was much louder than normal. Bought the correct replacement fan and replaced it myself. Hooked everything up just the way it came apart. At least as my untrained eye observed. After I finished putting it back together I hit the power button and it started to come to life. My triumph quickly dissipated when the screen did not do anything and the power button started to blink, 2 red 3 blue, the computer would then turn itself off and repeat. It will cycle this way continuously unless I turn it off. I looked up the code and it means No RAM detected. This was odd to me because I never touched the RAM sticks themselves. So I double checked the entire motherboard and all cables, wires and ribbons and they all seem to be connected firmly. I tried removing the RAM sticks and switching them around like a trouble shooting guide suggested but to no avail. I fear that I may have damaged a connection to the motherboard and now me trying to save a couple of bucks by changing the fan out myself has cost me far more than if I would have just had a tech do it. Anyone have any suggestions for a fix or encountered this same problem? FYI. Everything had been working fine without issue before I took it apart.
