I got it i guess i disabled something with my sata 

 

Hey guys was hoping someone could help i just built my first pc and got it to boot into bios everything seems fine but i can't get my hdd to show up as a boot drive as it already has windows on it and i really don't want to have to install it. Ive done everything i could find on youtube but its just not working.

Need more information

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Well its a brand new build and im trying to launch windows off the the hard drive from my old pc. But when i try to edit boot drives the only thing that shows up is my new m.2 when i go into my pch storage config my hdd shows up and is registered just cant get it to show up in boot drives.

Yes.
 What motherboard?

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

The mother board is a asus prime z380-a 

Os would be intell and the original drive is a toshiba 2tb hhd connected by sata. But i think i figured out the issue my original build was amd the new one is intel so would make since why its not working right

No such thing as a z380, there's only z370 and z390

The old build being AMD has nothing to do with this issue

You might have your HDD connected to an ASMedia controller, don't use those. Look in your motherboard manual to see which ones it is and avoid them.
