UEFI with CSM, without CSM

I have HP Elitebook 8470p, I am currently using Legacy Bios, and also have UEFI too, but it shows "UEFI with CSM" and other option is "UEFI without CSM" can somebody guide me whats the different in both of the UEFI bios, thank you.

CSM (Compatibility Support Module) gives you the ability to boot in legacy mode from HDD/SSD. So you use it, if you have windows on MBR drive, with boot sector.

It goes a little deeper than that but for a quick answer yeah, this.

 

Essentially CSM allows devices designed to run on a BIOS system to still work with a UEFI system. A perfect example is GPUs, any GPU from pre 2012ish will not support UEFI Output so the UEFI BIOS would have to run with CSM On to allow it to work.

 

On your laptop there's no reason to run with CSM Enabled.

I think it's even deeper than that. For example, I can't post (or see the mobo post) if i run UEFI mode, and I have RTX 2070. 

There were others with new GPU, that had the same problem 

 

But well, I run windows 10 on M.2 NVMe SSD with MBR in legacy mode ?

On your laptop there's no reason to run with CSM Enabled.

So, without CSM is better in my laptop case, but I should tell you this that in my laptop I don't have integrated Graphic Card my laptop has AMD Radeon HD 7570m, so can you tell according to it.

 

Laptop Specs:

Core i5 3360m

8GB RAM

AMD Radeon HD 7570m 1GB

256GB SSD + 500GB HDD
