Ok so I just built a new pc. It posts without the gpu, but with the gpu the motherboard just flashes once and that’s it. I want to hope the gpu isn’t dead, as it worked perfect before I pulled it from the old rig. Any ideas? I already tried it in the secondary pcie slot and tried changing psu’s.

New build is the following.

9700KF

Fractal Deisgn Celsius s24 AIO

Z390 Aorus elite

32GB 4x8 3200 t-force pro dark RAM

Aorus water force extreme edition 1080ti

corsair hx1200 psu

samsung 860 evo 1tb m.2

intel 660p 1TB m.2

Fractal define r6

Thanks in advance for any trouble shooting ideas

Yes everything powered up outside the case. Same result with 2 psu’s and don’t have another build here as I gave my old build to my nephew already

Sold my 1070’s about 6 months ago. Been running the 1080ti ever since. 1080ti worked as of Wednesday when I stripped down the 4790k and gave everything to my nephew except for gpu

I guess my main question is, should everything else in the pc still power up if the gpu is bad? Or is the pc not powering up fully a fail safe? Also it just seems weird that my GPU just flat out died. Ive never had a gpu die. I have read they die in stages and you get warning signs of its impending demise.

That it does not start at all with the gpu in is strange a dead gpu most of the time lets the pc boot but u will see green lines crashes in windows etc and if the gpu worked fine in the old system i have a feeling your mainboard might be the problem but nobody can really know that until u test it ^^

Sometimes you can boot and cannot install any driver, sometimes you just cannot boot. Yes this could be one of those cases where you just cannot boot.

Can’t boot into uefi or bios. My cpu doesn’t have integrated graphics. And all 4 ram sticks work. It powers up with 1 or all, as long as the gpu isn’t inserted.
