Rx570 vs rx580.

Ilvantari

I'm putting together a very tight budget build for a friend and and I'm trying to decide on the gpu. I'm in Australia and I can get the 4gig rx570 for $179 ($118 USD) or the 4gig rx580 for $214 ($141 USD). Is it worth paying the extra for rx580?

those prices hit the nail right on the head, going with the rx 580 gives you about 19% more performance in games over the rx 570 for being exactly 19% more expensive, i would say go for it, get the rx 580 image.thumb.png.f3b45f34775fb310975cd701cf22e51c.png

Yes, userbenchmark is poop. But to say that the difference is 20% is quite accurate.

For $20 difference i think it's worth it. Try finding the 8gb model, sometimes the price is not that different.

Thanks for the advice, sadly the cheapest 8gb rx580 is another $70 ($45 USD). I don't think that would fit in the budget but it sounds like it might be worth it to stretch for the 4gb rx580.

Guru3d techpowerup techspot, even youtube channels like hardware unboxed, gamers nexus, paul's hardware have these benchmarks, RX 570 and 580 are often compared

If I'm not mistaken, a 580 offers about 15-20% more performance so it would be more future proof. Or you could overclock a ~$100 RX 570 and make up about 5-10% of it. Both are terrific budget oriented GPU's.

I would go the rx 580 and overclock it.  Just take a gpu with a good cooler if you are going to OC.  If you get a good chip and memory it can get close to rx590 level.
