Hi everyone,

I’m currently trying to install Linux on one SSD, I currently have a SSD with a windows installation and i want to be able to boot both

So, I created a bootable usb drive for Ubuntu to install it. But when I try to get into Ubuntu, it goes into the purple Ubuntu loading screen then after that it black screens

i’ve tried the USB on my laptop and it worked fine on my laptop, but on my desktop it didn’t work

I’m running a 3600x and an asrock b450 pro 4 mother board

Thanks

what gpu do you have?

can you press escape during the purple screen? that will give you a readout what the system is doing and if there are any errors.

Try again using Linux Mint.

that's based on the LTS and has very outdated drivers. that won't work with such new hardware.

Ubuntu 19.10 may give better results if you haven't tried.

that or Manjaro.
