Throttled Ethernet Connection

Hey,

 

My Ethernet connection is being throttled by something for whatever reason. I'm only receiving around 100-120 mbps download speed while my ISP is providing 250 mbps which is also what the other computers in my house are receiving (5G on my phone also receives around 150 mbps).

I have 2 gigabit ethernet connections:

1. I219-V
2. I211

Both are limiting me to the same speed and are refusing to give me the 250 mbps that I should have.

 

Things that I tried

1. Set the Speed & Duplex to 1.0 Gbps instead of Auto
2. Hook up another computer to the same internet cable (250 Mbps was achieved).
3. Install all latest drivers
4. I actually laid new cables (Cat 6a) as I never blamed my computer 
5. Updated motherboard to the latest BIOS version

Just to avoid confusion its GigaBIT, and GB means gigabyte which is 8 times as big/large.

On Gigabit network getting around 120MB(bytes)/s is about correct.

I'm confused with this. I do have a "Gigabit" network but everything is pointing to it being a 1000/1000 mbps connection.

 

These are my two LAN ports I have

 

Intel PROset Adapter Configuration Utility is telling me the speed is 1,00 Gbps Full Duplex

 

And Windows 10 itself is telling me is a 1000/1000 mbps connection

 

 

Not to mention, getting a 1000/1000 port in 2020 is not difficult, my motherboard was 150 euros and "MAG" should be MSI's mid-range motherboards. Not to mention I have a socket 1511 v2 motherboard opposed to the normal socket 1511

Gigabit = 1,00 Gbps = 1000 Mbps

Gbps = Gigabits per second

Mbps = Megabits per second

In 1 byte there goes 8 bits, thus the 8 times conversion. (In theory)
Practically that means a gigabit connection will allow speed around 120 Megabytes per second.
And we usually measure transfer speeds at the byte level.
But unfortunately manufacturers saw some marketing nonsense using the bit variant. I guess to make it seem faster.

Yeah what you're saying is true, however the issue is that I should be receiving 250 Megabytes per second instead of just the 120. My phone's 5G is even receiving higher than my computer. My ISP is providing me with 250 Mbps.
