Hey guys, so I recently bought a new laptop (Acer V5-573G) and so far I'm loving it. There's one thing I want to know how to get fixed, as I have 1080p screen on 15.6 inch monitor, I'm using 125% DPI scaling, however, the scaling does some weird thing to taskbar icons. Their resolution seems to be much lower, you can see the difference in the screenshot:

So how do I fix this issue? (I'm on Windows 8.1 Pro and I know it's DPI scaling problem, because it's just fine on 100% but 100% is too small for me to use normally)

Thanks!

I think it's because the icons don't have the resolution in their files that you are asking for.

So how can I fix that?

Putting it on 100% seems to be the easiest solution.

There is no fix to your problem, nor Microsoft can help you (unless they are can pull some voodoo magic and make it happen in Windows 9, or rework the entire GUI system of Windows desktop, which will result in having pretty much no software working again.. then you'll complain about that). All you can do, is push to the developers to make their software high DPI friendly, making the icons available in larger sizes, so that their software does not appear broken or blurry.

Devs won't be fixing this, until people complain about it. By complain, I mean go on their support size, and complaining.. complaining here won't help.

Waiting a few years until devices like the Surface Pro get more popular, will help, due to the smaller screen and still 1080p. But by more popular, I mean: iPad levels. Until then, well cross your fingers and complain on their support site, and hopefully a fix will come, one day.

For more info on it (technical for devs, but the first part of the video explain how it works): [url=http://channel9.msdn.com/Events/Build/2013/4-184]http://channel9.msdn.com/Events/Build/2013/4-184[/url
