Many here will tell to rely only on Windows Defender and common sense. That is, if you trust US company more than Russian. And if you still want AV, and still trust US company, there are Norton, McAfee and Comodo.

 

Googling the Kaspersky data theft, thats not confirmed. Its alleged by US government by the time of some political commotion in US with alleged involvement by Russian government. You should read into it, quite interesting political side on that (and this is not the place for that discussion).

 

Personally I use BitDefender.
