Help!, Nvidia GeForce experience error message

Hi, so my cousin have this new Asus tuf gaming laptop for a month it’s working fabulous, just yesterday he got into this problem when he open the GeForce experience software he got this message “unable to download recommended driver” . Then he started some light trouble shooting and that doesn’t seems to work, he start to play a game and he notice that it was running it from the Vega 8 graphic, I ask hem to check the device manager and Windows doesn’t detecting the gpu, so I’ve been thinking to reinstall the driver, will that fix the problem or is there any other solution that I can do to help him?

note

-before he ran into this problem, about a week earlier he updated the Nvidia driver

Does he have the most recent driver version and is Windows updated?

Did this error occur out of nowhere?

What troubleshooting steps did he go through?

Yes that was the most recent driver from Nvidia and he did updated his Windows. Yes the problem occur out of nowhere. He’s just doing some casual computer user troubleshooting Nothing hardcore restarting his laptop checking the task manager network etc

Has he tried downgrading to an earlier version of the driver? He could find that on Nvidia's website.

Not yet, might as well take that to the consideration. However will it still do able when the GeForce experience software freezes when it opened?

You don't need to use geforce experience to install drivers if that's what you're asking.
