Keyboard & Mouse Vs Controller

I can buy a gaming keyboard and mouse but they are expensive, Or i can buy an Xbox Controller for less than half the price? What do i choose? What are the pros and cons of each?

I am on a budget so i do want to save cash...

Not all games support controller and mouse versus joy stick your gonna have a disadvantage due to being for presise thena joy stick. Onthe other hand if you enjoy play roms like old systems or fighting games where you really need to mash those buttons then a controller would be perfect. I dont really consider a gaming grade mouse and keyboard that exspensive. I paid around 70 bucks for my mouse and keyboard and they were on sale. And they are usually on sale alot.

What kind of question is this? They're entirely different, one is better for different things than the other and it shouldn't be a question of "which one", you should have both for a different range of games. If I were to tell you one thing, it would be to just get a gaming mouse and not worry about a gaming keyboard. A cheap logitech membrane will suit you fine, it's the mouse that matters. In which case I'd recommend a g500. The 360 controller is only good for racing and fighting games, or if you enjoy laying back and playing your games. If you want to play multiplayer games, then a controller is a terrible idea.

I have the logitech MK200 keyboard mouse set. I have to hit the keys pretty  hard to use it. and sometimes when i hold a button to run, i cannot unless i press the key with a lot of force! So i thought of going mechanical. I do play alot of 3rd person games. But i play fps too. Maybe you are right. I will have to buy both later on...

I've picked out two things that would be a great choice:

Mechanical keyboard: http://www.amazon.com/QuickFire-Mechanical-Keyboard-Keyswitches-SGK-4000-GKCL1-US/dp/B0068INSUM/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1367179075&sr=1-1&keywords=cm+quickfire

It's tenkeyless(no numpad) but it's a very solid keyboard for that price, and cherry mx blue switches are amazing

Mouse: http://www.amazon.com/EMS131BK-Precision-Controls-included-Authentic/dp/B005CPGHAA/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top

For $11, that is a pretty good mouse. I've heard it felt a little cheap, but it is probably the cheapest mouse you'll find that has 1600dpi and extra buttons.

You don't really need a "gaming" branded mouse and keyboard as most of the time it is just marketing gimmick. A mouse and keyboard combo will always be ahead of a controller and even if you don't get one mate, wouldn't you need a decent set for normal computer use!

Is this the real life? Or is this just fantasy?
