Running Chrome on Dedicated GPU?

i cant help but notice that chrome has an option for running it with our dedicated GPU. cant seem to find anything different in how it runs, or perhaps it impacts something else?

curious to know what you guys think, answers are appreciated.

Do you mean running “without” dedicated gpu?  One would assume it might run slower.  It could also do other things though. I don’t trust google at all.

mine runs on the integrated graphics by default

Integrated graphics may still be dedicated GPU.  An iGPU/APU is dedicated but not discrete.  It depends on how they are using the word.  There may be some acceleration available even in iGPU/APUs.  That may turn it off and force it to do everything with the CPU.  If you flip it on and your CPU use goes up there you go.  What else it may or may not do I do not know.  Google really really likes to do data mining on its users/cattle.  I don’t know what that option buys you as far as that goes.  Maybe nothing.
