Has anyone seen a pcie adapter to bluetooth, or something of that sort? I cant find one anywhere!

At me or quote me, I want to hear your opinion.

Hopefully anything I say is factually correct. Sorry for any mistakes in advanced.

I think some are a combination WIFI and Bluetooth. But otherwise you're looking at a USB dongle.

eww. i hate those. anyway guess im left with a 2 parter.

Real quick: does that usb cable looking thing plug in to a NORMAL usb header, or is it some special header?

Normal USB header. Likely that's what interfaces with your computer when transferring files.

seems kind of odd to not use the pci-e lanes for that, but considering how it's a more cobbled together laptop solution in a desktop form factor

will this work with an xbox controller?  TempestCatto

  • Step 1: Navigate to Settings on your PC and click Devices.
  • Step 2: Click the Bluetooth settings option to make sure your Bluetooth is turned on. Stay in this menu.
  • Step 3: Press the Guide button and then the sync button on your controller. The logo should start blinking.
  • Step 4: On your PC, choose Add Bluetooth or other device, and click Bluetooth. This tells your PC to look for your controller.
  • Step 5: Once it shows up, choose Xbox Wireless Controller to finish the pairing process.

Yeah, I know how to navigate the settings. Lots of blue adapters advertise as AUDIO ONLY, so i wanted to make sure this is not 1 of them.

This adapter shouldn't be audio only. I think BT 5.0 is audio only, but this is the same kinda card you'd find in a laptop. Should work with any BT device.

bt 5.0 is just the newest standard, being audio only would be on a device by device basis... I'm pretty sure anyway, let me check my notes

if you want to make sure it supports devices, could always spring for a more robust wifi combo card like https://www.staples.ca/products/2967470-en-tp-link-archer-tx3000e-ax3000-wi-fi-6-bluetooth-50-pcie-adapter

Yeah I might just get this one or the other one posted, thanks guys!

You might be right. But every time I try and find a 5.0 adapter (USB dongle) it always says in the item description "This device is compatible with audio devices only!!11!!1!" which makes no damn sense to me.

probably able to skimp on parts of the electronics if they don't have to handle any data outside of an audio stream, a lot of those usb adapters are miniaturized to the max
