Hi, I have a Gigabyte Z390 UD Motherboard, this is my first time building a full PC and installing an I/O Shield. This one doesnt doesn't come with any cool looks or any identifying marks that stick out to me, so I have no clue how to install it, could I get some help please?

It can only go in one way, those 3 small circles go on bottom and the metal bits sticking off go on the inside, not the outside.

as soon as you start trying to install, you'll see how it fits on the case.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I need?

First of all FIX those tiny bits of metal, straighten them out... they're supposed to be like tiny springs and make contact with the connectors on the motherboard.  They're not supposed to be flattened/ smashed like in the picture.

You insert the shield from inside the case and press it to the case until it sort of clicks into place. Sometimes it helps to use the back of a screwdriver to apply a few gentle taps around the edge of the shield to lock it in place.

Once it's in place, you insert the motherboard at a slight angle (let's say 30 degrees) to get the connectors in the holes of the io shield and then gently let the board lay down on the standoffs.

I still wish motherboard manufacturers and case manufaturers could get along and make a standard that makes it so we don't need an IO sheild, rather have it preinstalled onto the motherboard I/O ports itself. I know some ASUS boards have that, but we should make this a standard for all new motherboards so we don't have to deal with it ourselves
