Which gpu should i take?

AnkeLB

Hi guys,

As of right now, i recieved my Ryzen 7 3700X.

But now i'm without GPU. And i can't play anything :(

What my dillemma is, i have a Benq XL2411 (without displayport)

So i have 2 options.

Either buy a used 1070 (200€ in my country), and keep the Benq XL2411.

Or buy a RTX 2070 Super (475€ in my country) and buy an Alienware 240Hz screen (260€) , those would be both new.

But my question is, i game only at 1080P, and only esport titles (CS:GO, Fortnite, Sea of Thieves, Rainbow Six Siege)

Is it justified to buy an 1070 used for 200€, or should i just empty the wallet and buy an rtx 2070s and the 240hz screen?

How much is it for a used 1080 or 1080Ti?

Those are going for 325€ and 500€

If you can afford it, I'd go for one of those.

Okay. like either way,  go none-reference, like use a non-reference GPU for overclock, better cooling, power delivery, smnthn like that. I do prefer the MSI gaming X trio

But what would be the safest way to go? 1080Ti is 500€ , RTX 2070S and 240HZ screen are together 740€

The used market is not ever really that safe, so I'd say go with a brand more trusted like ebay. Buying new is allways safer. Can't you just use hdmi for the monitor?

what an intellectual response.

Anyway, a [used] 1080 Ti would indeed be good around this price range.

My Build (5800X3D, RTX 3070)

It is the old Benq XL2411, so no, it doesnt support any of that sadly enough, that is why i'm heavily considering the RTX 2070 and 240hz screen

Yeah sure then. But maybe use a 1080ti unless you feel like using rtx, becuase I looked at userbench, and the 1080ti puts up like 20%+ more preformance stock, and with a aftermarket cooler, and better power dilevery, you could get some serious power, as long as you don;t mind: no rtx, and like hdmi 1.4 (When you get a new card, and say you want 144hz or 240hz and 1440, you'll need a new gpu, and maybe monitor) Otherwise, the 2070 S is ao good card. In any scenario, one of the best preforming manufactuers of these cards is MSI, so try to get the MSI TRIO X GAMING, for either the 2070S or 1080TI. As for the monitor, I don;t really like alienware, becuase you can get higher quality, or cheaper prices from other brands, that arn't owned by like Dell (alienware) or Hp (omen). ROG makes good ones, MSI makes good ones, Samsung makes good budgets/curves

I can't fit that MSI TRIO X GAMING, cause of my case. I would have to go with the gaming X

That's okay. The gaming x is still really good, just not great.

If i watch the benchmarks, it's only 3-4 degrees hotter, and no fps loss at all?

When you overclock... the distance is larger.

as long as its not mini version there will not be significant differance , choose the one you want from big manufacturer (zotac , msi , asus , all and all)

Different brands have different coolers. The temperature specs can vary, even between dual and triple-fan configurations.
