Display pixel

So I recently got a new monitor - it's pretty nice, it does the job but I've recently noticed something quite strange, perhaps a dead pixel now?

 

I'm pretty worried, I did pay a lot and for something like this... and I really don't know much about the situation. Any replies would be much appreciated.

 

Other than that, I've pretty much got no option but to send it in for a repair but.. I don't even know if it'll be considered as malfunctioning.

In the past I've "massaged" the dead pixel and it has fixed it.  Otherwise depending on the type of monitor some companies will warranty dead pixels.
