I'm reading a lot about DDR4 overclocking, frequency, timings, b-die vs CJR etc.. but they all talk about it as if you already know what you are doing.

Buildzoid videos are great but 1-2 hours video where he talks mainly about highly technical details aren't that great.

since in italy DDR4 prices are double or even more what's listed on PCpartpicker I was leaning towards the idea of discarding the "fire and forget" XMP profile and get a cheaper chip to OC myself saving money.

there is a lot of discussion like this but no help or guidance is ever linked/given.

I will get a Ryzen 3000 with a good TUF x570 Gaming-plus Board, so I should have enough room for a stable OC I think...?

like should I get a low timing ram but low frequency like a 3200 cl14 or a 3600 at cl18 and step down to cl16?

we are talking like 80-160€ difference. (just go to PCpartpicker Italy and check the prices difference, even cheap sticks from Buildzoid list are double in price here )

RAM prices are high right now. They are especially high for the new Trident Z Neo 3600 CL14 kits. Not worth it.

What you want to get is the 3600 CL16 Trident Z RGB/Neo or 3200 CL14 regular Trident Z(red) or some 4000 CL18/19 kits such as the Patriot Viper Steel.

3600 CL17 and CL18 are garbage and should be avoided.

The 3 resources you need for Ryzen 3 RAM OC.  Then head to the overclock.net thread for MSI motherboard owners and look at the last 10 pages or so.
