Help with file sharing

I have built a new PC and have a laptop. I would like to no a way to share files maybe in a certain folder that i can open on both devises. They will be contected to the same route, but if possable i would like to be able to  Access to folder while am at work or away? Hope i have explained this correctly

You can create a shared folder on one of your machines to access from the other one. Then you have to create a ddns account with port forward rule to access it outside of your house. The pc with the folder must be powered on to access it when you are away.
