I have an i7 8700k and it recently started reaching 90 degrees celsius. My cooler is around 5 years old. Currently I am using a Corsair H100i V2 AIO. A couple months ago the temps were in the low 60's. I blew the dust out of the fans and re applied a normal amount of thermal paste. My theory is that the pump is failing and is not able to cool the CPU down enough. Is there there something I am missing in my troubleshooting? I had to turn off my Asus CPU enhancement because of these astronomical temps. I am starting to think that I need to purchase a new cooler. The AIO fans also used to be much quieter and have significantly gotten louder.

Did you touched the pump to see if it’s working? Other thing it may be that air bubble stuck in the pump since you take it out and clean it. Try to shake it maybe.

I've had a few different Corsairs over the years...no pump has ever failed...have had an H80i pump become somewhat noisier, but even that settled down over time.

Am not saying a pump cannot fail...but not likely...even so obviously you'll need to get to the bottom of the problem...
