Hey guys (hopefully) quick question!

Im helping my grandpa upgrade from an HDD to an SSD.

He is running Windows 7 and has requested to stay on that one.

i bought a 256gb Kingston SSD and tried using MiniTool to migrate his Windows 7 OS and all files to the SSD.

i plugged the SSD to the internal SATA and power cables and it was recognized by the system. I then used the MiniTool Partition Wizard to clone the HDD to the SSD.

it seemed to go well. So I went to the bios and told it to boot from the SSD.

now I get Error: Autochk program . Autocheck missing error and then it defaults to the old HDD (if it’s plugged in).

any suggestions?

thanks a bunch in advanced

Also... just to clarify... when I boot from his HDD I can look at the SSD and everything seems to be a copy and all his files are there and such. So are the partitions and all.

try removing the the old HDD then boot from the SSD or  try another tool like AIO system rescue toolkit at https://paul.is-a-geek.org/aio-srt/, use the disk tool to create a image, then image the drive you want with that image (sector by sector copy).
