I am running  8 gb ddr4 2666mhz. My laptop only runs @ 2400mhz. Did I make a mistake ordering a 8 gig stick of 2400mhz? Or will it be fine?

I'm not too sure what you're asking? Did you add more memory in one of these systems?

I read a similar post earlier where a guy was upgrading from 4 to 8 as I am upgrading from 8 to 16. Just wanna know if I need to go ahead and order a stick of 2666mhz. It runs at 2400mhz so Im thinking it will be fine.

It would be best to get matching sticks just to ensure compatibility

 

Generally it's fine to mix, and the higher frequency dimm will just run at the slower speed

Yeah it is 8 gig ddr4 @ 2666mhz but it only runs at 2400mhz. So if I add a 8 gig stick of 2400mhz it should be fine then?
