Led strips - Aura sync

I built myself a system a year ago and now I wanted to make it look nicer so I decided I wanted to make a led strip go around my desk and be connected to an USB port.

 Can Led lights be synced via aura sync when they are connected over an USB port? 

And if so can anyone recommend any that are at least 2m long?

This is very expensive, he can found a simple one with a remote control.

Not if he want's to sync it with Aura sync.
