Please for the love of God stop using the term "PC Master Race"

That's why I also addressed Linus. But the moderation staff certainly has a saying as far as these forums are concerned. -

It's no joke to those who suffered at the hands of Nazi Germany. And it's no joke to those who still propagate this ideology even today, 75 years after the "Third Reich" finally collapsed. -

According to the staff list on this website these are Senior Mods. That's why I included them. -
After having heard this term in many tech youtube videos including LTT and also read it on many forums I finally decided to bring the issue up in this thread. I live in Europe and here the term "Master Race" is commonly associated with Nazi Germany language (a so called Nazism). I don't know whether this is also the case in the U.S. and/ or Canada but let me quote Wikipedia as a reminder: Here is the link to the entire article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Master_race As described above the Nazis assumed that they were the "Master Race" and thus superior to a

I don't get it. Don't buy from scalpers, end of story. There is no human right to always be able to buy the latest tech. We are in the middle of a global pandemic, supply lines are interrupted, factories are operating below their max. capacity, raw materials are out of stock... There are currently way more important things to consider (like getting through the pandemic/ not dying) than whether or not we are able to buy a RTX 3080 or a Ryzen 5900X.

If you don't game on the laptop the type of dedicated GPU is not that important as long as there is one (you mentioned CAD which should benefit from a dedicated GPU). In this case I'd allocate the 300 Euro towards a GPU upgrade for your desktop PC. Unless of course there is a certain use case in which you actually benefit from the faster 2060.
-
Plus it's really ugly

Don't buy now, the latest tech is simply not available (Nvidia GPUs, AMD GPUs and AMD CPUs) and the generational improvements have been so big that buying products from the previous generation doesn't make sense in my opinion, especially when it comes to GPUs. Wait until the new AMD CPUs and current gen. GPUs from both manufacturers are in stock.
-
I'd wait for the new GPUs as these are supposed to be released very soon. But for the CPU if you want to upgrade I'd do it as AMD has not published a release date for Ryzen 3 yet (they say in 2020 which could be 31st of December). Current AM4 mainboards will be compatible with Ryzen 3 so you can build a system based on the Ryzen 3600 CPU now with the option to upgrade later after the release of Ryzen 3 CPUs if they offer a big enough performance gain to justify another upgrade.

To update or not to update bios tuf b350m-plus gaming
oeci replied to narrdarr's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
I keep my Bios up to date but as long as everything works as expected you don't have to. Every Bios update comes with a risk of messing up something. If in doubt and there are no issues with the current version I would not update. -
No. You would need 2.5 PB of storage

On my system the game runs on ultra settings at around 60 - 70 FPS while crusing. Over detailed cities I've seen drops to as low as 30 FPS but that's fine with me. I guess the whole talk about how hard this game was to run is a bit exaggerated. Yes I know 4K is a whole different game but if you are content with 1080p and got a decent CPU, a mid to high end graphics card like a RTX 2060 Super with 8 GB of VRAM and lots of RAM (in my case 64 GB) you can actually expect very good performance. And since Microsoft is certainly going to optimize the software in the near future the performance can on

I'm currently learning again to fly as it has been quite some time since I last played a flight sim. But as soon as I get the hang of it one of the first things I am going to do is probably to fly over my house. By the way I'm positively surprised how well the game runs on my system although only at 1080p.

Simply mount the radiator at the top of the case and you'll never have to worry about it
