Upgrade path?

I am a gamer and I am looking to upgrade my current machine just because I am an enthusiast.

I have a R7 2700x, 16 gb 3200 ddr4 ram, RTX 2070, 650 watt evga 80+ Gold PSU,  a Gigabyte x470 Aorus Ultra Gaming motherboard, and use an ultrawide 3440 x 1440 115 hz MSI monitor.

 

So, do I go for a R5 3600 and an aftermarket cooler, 

upgrade to a R7 3700x

wait and keep saving for a RTX 2080

or are there other suggestions?

I have a budget of around $400

I'd wait and keep saving for either nvidia 3000 series or ryzen 4000 series. Makes most sense to upgrade every 2 generations
