Hard Drive Issues

Hi,

 

So I've been having some pretty strange issues with my HDD and I cant figure out what is going on with it. Every couple days the pc will take an incredibly long time to boot up (3-5 minutes with an ssd) and when it does my second drive, a 2TB HDD, is not detected. So far the only way I can get it to be detected is to switch off the pc, plug out the cables in the HDD, switch it back on with just the ssd, shut down and plug the cables back in before finally booting up again. This brings back the HDD and everything returns to normal. 

 

Is this a simple case of a dying hard drive or is there something else going on? I've downloaded a couple hard drive diagnostic programmes and the ones that detect the drive say that its working fine..

 

I'm pretty confused as to what could be going on here
