Hi guys I’m new here and I’m looking to build a new pc for streaming and gaming any help would be greatly appreciated I’m looking to go with 1440p but I’m not sure how I can budget it out we’re I’ve only got $1396 to spend and the reason for building a pc is I have cerebral palsy on my left side and it’s hard for me to use a console controller for like ps4 and Xbox.

Streaming usually means Nvidia over AMD because Nvidia has this specialized hardware for streaming on some of their cards.  If you dump the streaming you can save a few bucks with an AMD video card.  1396 sounds like a very hard number.  Let’s see what can be done.  Nation of origin USA? (Matters for pricing and availability)

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

didn’t do peripherals.  No monitor/keyboard/mouse, but there’s a bit left over.  You need those?

Yep I’m definitely gonna need a monitor mouse and keyboard too which is probably gonna drive it up too much because of a 1440p monitor with 144hertz

How’bout this?  Had to go down market on the mobo and case, but it should work fine.

Theres a bit less than a Benjamin left in case the mouse or keyboard doesn’t work for you.  Those I lowballed.  The keyboard is basically disposable.  I’m personally kind of a fan of that mouse myself.  Yo may have specific mouse or keyboard needs though.

That’s definitely a lot of money I got to thinking could I just use my 2016 MacBook Pro and use boot camp for windows installation and then use a razor core x with a GPU then use a fast external SSD for game storage I’m just trying to save some cash instead of spending a load of cash all at once

2016 laptop is an option.  The issue with GPUs is there’s both a latency and bandwidth problem.  If you go that route don’t bother with a GPU more powerful than an rx580.  There isn’t enough bandwidth.  The 580 is also a fairly short card so there may be money to be saved on the model of eGPU box as well

the 580 will only sort of do 1440p, and there’s some question as to whether or not it will match the new consoles.  The current max projected power of jaguar 2 is 2070s class.  So I tried to find something that would have legs.

I might go that option I’ve definitely got a lot to think about in terms of which direction I’m gonna go for pc gaming

It’s kind of a question of how hard you want to go at this.  The Mac option is minimal and may not last over about a year for gaming.  If you went with a 27” 1080p monitor there would be more money and the cars would behave better.  Won’t solve the latency though.

Could sub the 3600 cpu for a 2600 or a 1600 af model (only af for the 1600) but the cooler goes up because some OC would need to be done with the 1600.  Not a whole lot of money there.  Maybe a little.
