"Innovating" sounds more like beta testing on people willing to pay $2k and marketing gimmicks as new major features.

It is good that they tryout stuff, but don't push it into public sometimes half-assed and sometimes useless things.

 

iPhones might look more conservative, but at least they work great, and last for years with support. Plus they are very consistent with performance, quality and overall experience - lineups might differ in display, size and camera, but they get the same cpu/soc, so you can expect same or very similar performance for the cheapest and the most expensive models.
