Hi there, (note, not sure if this is the right place to post it)

Backstory:

My dad has been a DJ for most of his life.
During these years of DJing he has collected a lot of music from various CD's and DVD's and even recorded vinyls.
His total library currently comes in at 1.36TB, yes indeed 1.36 Terabytes of local stored music.
Recently (with how DJ hardware evolves) he was required to change his drive from NTFS to exFAT, which we did after a 28 hour process of moving files between a new drive and the old one.

Problem:

Besides needing to format his drive from NTFS to exFAT, we found there to be an issue that all of is files had to be in the .mp3 file format.
But the problem is he had not only mp3 files, he also has

  • WAV
  • WMV
  • VOB
  • M4A
  • MP4
  • AIFF

Now he wants to convert all of those, (unknown but surely large amount) of file to be converted to mp3.
To my knowledge this is not only a demanding and hard task, but there are no pieces of software that I know that can do this.
(Mass different extension file conversion, and deleting the old file after converting)

Can anyone help me out, are there any known ways?
Cheers.
