Force 16:9 on modern phone?

I have an older game I like to play that has ugly blue instead of black bars when not using a 16:9 display and since any modern Android phone doesn't use that anymore I want to know plus I also don't like the rounded corners at the top, I was looking at getting a Google Pixel 4xl or 3xl

Well, you can't force 16:9 w/o rooting device. At least I haven't heard of such options in settings. Maybe that is kinda possible with hiding that notch, but I'm not sure...

Have you had any breaktrough on this?

For me the annoyance is game streaming with phones (Stadia XCloud etc). Most modern phones have something else than 16:9 aspect ratio so already small screen has black bars on both sides.

Not yet, I don't like rooting so I am still trying to figure out
