Octave Not Opening image

Hey guys, hope you all are having a great day!

I`m not able to make octave open an image, i installed graphicsMagick and still nothing, i`m very new to this program. Sorry if this is a stupid question.

this is the error:

 

img = imread('water-drop.jpg');

I`m using windows 10 btw.

are you sure this is the correct path for the image?

 C:\Users\igorp\Documents\iniciação\water-drop.jpg

Yes, it even shows up im my octave file browser

Are you able to open any other image? Perhaps the one you're trying to open is encoded in a weird way or is too large?

Can you put in in a folder without 'special' characters? (I know they're technically within the normal character set, but I've had programs fail over less reasonable things).

Yeah, could you upload the image so we can take a look at it?

Wow, it was the special characters, thank you!

Now it works and i know in the future!

I would suggest contacting the devs at GraphicsMagick with your issue and see if they have a suggestion. There's no reason for that not to work (though I'm not familiar with MacOS and how it handles paths with those characters in it).
