So I have done my thoughts and whatnot. I am looking at these 2 routers (1 is on sale for about the same price as the other)

TP-Link AX1500

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07ZSDR49S?ref=em_1p_0_ti&ref_=pe_1843280_468264510

TP-Link AC1900

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07NF3K74H/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1

Both have good reviews, the AX1500 has a tri-core cpu at 1.5Ghz and the AC1900 has dual core at 1Ghz. So I am wondering, would the AX1500 be the better option due to being able to handle more traffic due to the cores?

We got a fair amount of devices in the house. I game every day, parents are on all day long with work, and then stream movies at night. we are all on our phones, including siblings.

Not sure if it matters, we have Comcast 300mbps

Both say they have long range, Mu MIMO support,

The AX1500 also has Wifi 6 which seems great imo but i would like to hear other thoughts on all this.

i Don’t think the cores matter.  The number of allowable connections is determined by the spec.  Neither of those CPUs are going to be AMD64 so comparing them by frequency and core number is useless.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.

No clue.  I was only pointing out that the things weren’t comparable by cpu core count.

As a general rule better models of WiFi play with WiFi frequencies in more advanced ways and have better range through more materials or in more WiFi congested areas. They also can have more features.  So a more expensive router might possible be better if you needed the stuff it can do that the other can’t.  All that is situational though.  It would have as much to do with the layout of the building and what kind of and how many and how close other neighbors WiFi is as anything else.
