Help psu issues?

So i picked up a new case for my pc with the hopes of moving everything into a nice new nzxt case. I also grabbed a new psu from corsair. 550w gold fully modular  ....to replace my old 500w white. I got everything moved over...fired it up and the cpu fan did a quarter turn and nothing. I started to systematically eliminate possibilities.  I removed all the ram and put in a stick i know was working,, made sure all my connections were tight....disconnected all the front panel connectors ...removed gpu....It wasn't till i removed the power to the ssd it booted up....So i though...ok....i grabbed a new ssd and tried it...nothing...no power....so now i concluded that it was not the ssd....i tried a new ssd power connector...nothing...i tried s dif ssd cable to the mobo...nothing....what are your thoughts....could it that the new power supply has issues?

I think it is the new power supply. The way to verify is to hook back in your old PSU and if it works fine, then we know for sure. I would imagine you would've caught it by now if it was the issue, but you may double check your connections going into the modular PSU. Maybe one is loose or plugged in funky?

Did you keep the old power cables or swapped them?

It helps a lot to add a spec list just in case

 

My first thought is something not being plugged in all the way, might want to double check if you haven't

ok old psu attached and everything works great.....kinda sad getting a dud psu....did a newegg live chat....sending it back  for new one free of charge.......feeling a bit frustrated that i wasted half a day testing ....but what can you do...
