K70 SE, H100i SE and WD Blue 1TB all acting up after upgrade.

MrChemistryCow9

For Christmas, I got a new 3800x and X570 Taichi. These 2 together perform great, after I had to RMA because one of them was dead, but now it's ok. Ever since I upgraded, it has caused issues with my K70 SE, (8 key is mislit for some odd reason, and 4 was too for a bit but ICUE update fixed that, and the escape key was doing command+d, but I fixed that with an icue reinstall.), My Corsair H100i RGB Platinum SE, (Pump had little lighting, fan led were off and the fan speed was stuck at 100%, and the pump would sometimes work, even though it has it's own controller, just requiring USB, SATA and a pump header to give the mobo the rpm.) and my Western Digital Blue 1TB refuses to speed up. I have tried lots, and none of it seems to work. I have Windows 10 1909 with 64-bit. You can check my signature for my PC specs, but I can answer anything about it. My X570 Taichi has bios version 2.70. Thanks in advance and have a nice day.

Is the pump still having issues after the iCUE update? It’s Corsair too.  It my want to be hooked up to iCUE if it isn’t.  I don’t know what you mean about a mechanical HD speeding up.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Ah it won’t spin at all.  That could be several things.  Have you tried different sata ports?

Yes, I have tried different SATA ports and cables. I have tried different sata power ports on the PC and different sata power coords. It's only 2 years old.

So the machine boots, but the HD won’t spin up.  An SSD will connect though. Most common issue would be a problem specific to the HD.

Ok, I guess I'll call WD tomorrow. What about the H100i and keyboard?

I thought you said you fixed the keyboard thing with an iCUE update.

Wait... iirc there are up to 104 keys on a keyboard.  So all but a few keys worked and an iCloud update fixed some but not all of them?  This doesn’t sound like software.  It also makes 3 hardware problems.  I beginning to wonder about how these parts are being treated.

I don't abuse these parts that I know of. I couldn't think of a thing that I could be doing.

Could be a lot of things.  Static, uneven wall power, etc..

Hmmm. If this is any use, the H100i pump worked for a bit but none of the issues were fixed for 30 mins a while ago.

Did it all ever work correctly at the same time?

So the change included taking everything apart and putting it back together again.  Misinstalls or damaged components maybe.

It’s got chips in it too.  A good zap can fry all kinds of things.
