Hello, i want to do my own custom sleeving for my original psu cables(its too costly to do from the ground up), and i have that bridged PCIe 6+2 pin cable. I cant help but wonder if you can actually sleeve them by yourself. I imagine the cable itself and that portion which comes out of the housing are spliced, and i feel like it will be too hard to do by yourself, or just outright impossible.

It's a pain in the butt. you remove the connectors from the female plug ends, you don't cut and splice wires. 

You're right cable mods aren't exactly cheap, but are done right, look great and save you a bunch of time and headaches.
