I recently build a new gaming pc and I realised that the gaming experience was not great. When playing Battlefield 5 my GPU usage is none or at most 5% and my CPU is almost at 100%. I have done several things (DDU, Nvidia control panel settings, high perfomance in control panel, in-game video settings etc.). When playing on 1080p medium settings I am getting 80fps with lag spikes.

My setup:

- AMD Ryzen 5 3600 processor
- Asus TUF GAMING X570-PLUS
- Cooler Master MWE Gold 650 Full Modular PSU / PC
- Corsair DDR4 Vengeance RGB Pro 2x8GB 3600
- Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2070 Super GAMING OC White 8G
- NZXT Kraken X62
- Samsung 970 EVO 1TB M.2 SSD

Monitor: Dual 1080p 75hz

How can I fix the low GPU usage?

What soft are you using to monitor GPU usage? With 5% utilization I doubt you would be getting 80fps in BF5.

On a side side, enable Future Frame Rendering in BF5 if you're running in DX11. If you're running in DX12, you need Windows 10 build 1903 or higher.

Main system: Ryzen 7 7800X3D / Asus TUF Gaming B650-Plus / G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO 32GB 6000Mhz / Zotac RTX 5090 SOLID OC/ x2 WD_BLACK NS770 2TBs/ Corsair HX1000i/ NZXT H5 Flow

Hi Peterpan3,

What does the Task Manager reports when you're playing?
I'd recommend you to update every drivers from the Motherboard's official site just to be sure it isn't a driver issue. Most likely related to the Chipset.
If that doesn't help, try to reinstall the 2070s driver.

Hi,

Thank you for the fast response! I am using task manager and NZXT Cam. Both are showing 0-5 % on GPU and CPU on 90-100 %.

I tried both things you said but still no luck :(

Hi,

Thanks for the response! I downloaded every driver from the motherboard website and even updated the bios.

I already did a DDU and reinstalled the drivers from Nvidia’s website but still no luck.

Same problem with Gears of War 5. Everything on low settings and 1080p I am getting 50 fps. Only on CSGO the GPU usage is around 50%.
