so i play games a lot on my pc, but, im getting really bad frames on games such as fortnite and minecraft, 40-100 fps.

all i know about my specs are: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 Six-Core Processor

GPU: NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1660

And thats all i know

this is far from enough information to help you at all. you haven't given us your RAM speeds and amounts, your actual issue with your frames (see what @NotSoEpicMods said), or storage or anything like that. Please help us help you by giving more info

My profile picure is real. That's what I look like in real life. I'm actually a blue and white African Wild Dog.

Those specs should be fine for those games. Without any further information, I would say double check and make sure you are actually plugging your monitor into your GPU and not your motherboard

The Daily Driver:
AMD Ryzen 7 3700x  |  EVGA GTX 1070 SC  |  48GB Crucial Ballistix Elite DDR4-3600  | Corsair 750D Case
AsRock X570 Pro 4 mobo

iRacing Sim Rig:

i5-10600k @ 5.0 GHz  |  EVGA GTX 1080ti Hybrid  | 32GB G.Skill Trident Z Neo DDR4-3600  |  Corsair Air 540 Case
ASUS Z490-E ROG Strix mobo

what? you want it to tear? is what I meant. Tearing isn't a good thing. Go find the specs of your pc and come back. You can download something like Speccy to do it, or go to "computer properties" in windows explorer.

i meant like tear 100+ fps, and all computer properties does is show my amd ryzen and my ram (7.95gb) and system type is 64 bit.

So sounds like you have only 8gb of ram, that may be the issue. Ryzen benefits quite lot from dual channel ram. Also can you check the ram speed?

"To tear" is not the right verb to use, in a computer context it refers to multiple frames being on the monitor at the same time ie a terrible artefact that you want to avoid. (this is what Vsync attempts to get rid of).

Your specs aren't the only thing that's important; what do you mean by wanting 100+ fps? How bad is it? are you at like 40-50 fps all the time with spikes to 100, or are you at nearly 100 all the time, with dips to 40-50. Because the latter would not be very surprising; fps drops happen on the fastest machines every now and then.

Also, as I said you can use SPECCY to get more detailed information.

From my experience single channel ram doesn't affect the performance that much; I use a Ryzen 5 1600 and I've used it on one stick of single channel memory for a while and it was just fine, at least for the games I played at the time (like planetside 2 which is rather cpu heavy) and editing and rendering videos. I would not expect single channel memory to be the main cause for really poor performance. Sure it may be an improvement, but depending on how bad it really is (which again, the ts hasn't specified that well) I wouldn't say that's the root cause. The amount of memory is certainly on the low side though, that could be the issue here.

I’m definitely not a expert if we talking about Ryzen and I’m not saying that not having dual channel memory is definitely the problem but I’ve been around this forum for some time now and I’ve seen before that single channel hit the performance.

well on like fortnite(which i play rarely) even only gets 40-50 fps with spikes of 90+
