Media server build from eBay?

I believe I heard from one of Linus’s videos that it’s a good value to use refurbished server part for media server builds, and that there are people on eBay who can build & assemble everything for you. Is this true? If so, does anyone have recommendations for this type of service?

I don't know about services that do this for you as they wouldn't really be economical. You would probably end up paying more in labor than the cost of a brand new Synology NAS. However, eBay is filled to capacity with decommissioned server parts so you can easily build pretty much any kind of machine you want on the cheap
