question about my computer's max display

this is what it says under display on my computer model. so where it says "maximum resolution" it says the max i can get is 60Hz, so if i bought a 120 or 144hz monitor it would only go up to 60hz max because of my graphics card? so i assume a card like gtx 760 would be able to have a max resolution of 144hz? im just wondering, if this were the case id just buy an IPS monitor instead of buying an xl2420te and finding out my graphics card wont let me go up to 144hz

The graphics card will run at 140hz without problems.

why does it say 60hz is the maximum on the hp website then? i dont get why it says that because i overclocked the refresh rate from 60 to like 77 before but it messed up my computer where some programs wouldnt run until i changed it back to 60hz

hp website ? What hp has to do with the gtx 760 ? 

google "h8-1114" first link. thats my computer. and i said would i have to buy something like gtx 760 to make 144hz work

it is very likely that you will be able to push 120-144hz at 1080p with your gt520 as it has dual monitor support.

edit: you will only be able to use the dvi port and you will need a dual link dvi cable.

^ agree. a 520 will barely run 1080p games, let alone at such a high fps. the monitor will be basically useless.

about 150 fps on  lol, that wasnt the question though, will i get 144hz with my card or is it limited to 60

I think you misunderstood what I said. I am confirming that yes, your card is NOT limited to 60hz and it WILL be able to do 1080p at 144hz
