Need Help Confirming - Improving PC Parts

Hi everyone, happy new year!

I've been wanting to improve my PC for a while now as I've only been upgrading parts here and there. After I've watched one of Linus's video: "The Perfect DIY Gaming PC - Early 2020 Buyer's Guide" I've finally got the motivation to buy new pieces.

Currently my PC is:

  • RAM: 28Gb DDR3
  • 1TB HDD + 2TB HDD
  • CPU: i7 3.40hz (Currently not at home to answer specifically but it's a low end version)
  • GPU: GTX 1060 6GB
  • Power Supply: 575W
  • Motherboard: LGA 1155, Intel

I've been wanting to upgrade to these parts:

  • Motherboard: MSI Performance Gaming. Linus suggest to get an MSI b450 gaming plus, but I really wish to have two M.2 slots for the future.
  • Storage: 1x Samsung 970 EVO 1TB. Not sure if I should keep my HDD or get some SSD or another M.2?
  • CPUAMD Ryzen 5 3600 Linus suggested this and I think it'd be a good upgrade from my current i7. I'm honestly not quite sure what's the difference with the 3600X other than 0.2GHz improvement at overclocked.
  • GPU: I'm thinking of keeping my GTX 1060 6GB, but the new RTX kind of make me want to upgrade... but I'm not sure if my current GPU is good enough for now or is it truely worth upgrading?
  • RAM: DDR4 3600MH (Not sure which once specifically). Linus mentionned the G.Skill Ripjaws, but they are always out of stock. Any alternative?
  • Case: Since the new ATX motherboard won't fit in my old compact case I was thinking of trying this Fractal Design Case, but I'm very open to suggestions. It would be interesting to have some RGB fans as I've never tried before.

A bit of background, I do play a lot of PC game (over 400 games on Steam), do so amateur 3D modeling and 2D animation in After-Effects and wish to have it VR ready for a future purchace. I'd also wish to upgrade my PC now (future proof for a good 10 years) so I don't have to upgrade every 2 years but without getting the most expensive gear, if that's reasonable? I don't have an ultimate budget in mind so I'd be open to suggestions that are around these suggested parts and if it's truely worth it and you're mentionning that I should totally spend the price for it, I'd be willing to buy it.

Thank you very much!
