980TI Bargain comes with dead fans/header

Hi guys, i got a Bargain for a 980ti Poseidon Platinum, the card works perfectly fine except for  the fan header, its dead, theres no visual damage whatsoever, and all the pints check for continuity but they dont give any voltage signs  currently im using the card with an Artic Accelero twin Turbo III hooked directly to the PSU

the issue is, i want to use the stock cooler because, well its really good and i plan to watercool later, but i need the fans to work since the VRMS are not cooled by the waterblock part of the cooler, right now i have a heatsink i stole from another card hooked with a freaking ziptie, and it somewhat works,

i think the previous owner disabled the fans somehow, idk how, but i already reflashed a new bios and the fans still dont spin at all, they do work if hooked directly to power,
again the card works fine, and turbos and yadda yadda, i just want to use the stock cooler

Get a multimeter and measure the pins voltage. If the PWM pin still pulses/has voltage you could jump wire a 12V wire from the PSU and combine that with the PWM signal from the card's fan header

Or you could plug it into the motherboard's fan header instead

the issue is that its a 5pin header, and im not sure how to connect it, as far from the header on the card itself, ill try to read as having the card on the system makes it a nightmare to do

I believe the colour cords are pretty standard and the extras are really for extra/ optional features

just googled theres a bunch of these adapters selling online (for miners?) so dont freak out if you dont fully reconnect all cables

it appears they have a Short, the voltages drop significantly while plugged in, the 3.3 drops to .9 and tne 9v main signal drops to 0. ill get replacement fans, they're 25$ on aliexpress

If you want to try saving a little bit of money, I know that sometimes manufacturers will ship out fans for free. I'm not sure if they would for a card that's two generation old, though.
