Hi all.

I have a Lenovo Y520T - 25IKL Motherboard, which only has 2 x SATA power outputs (it has 3 x sata data connectors). I have recently installed a new slave HDD to increase storage. Unfortunately, in the short term, I have had to "Borrow" a SATA power cable from my DVD RW Drive.

In order to get a 3rd SATA power connection, what are my options?

Other notes. My Power supply is adequate, but not amazing, and I also have 2 redundant cables (Pictured).

I don't really see myself using the DVD drive an awful lot, but would like to one day

Thanks in advance guys :)

SATA power splitter would probably be the only thing I could recommend. Molex to SATA is not really recommend anymore.

Be sure to check if your PSU doesn't just have its cables tucked away somewhere.

That's part of the cable hanging next to it, called PCIE 6+2 pin.

Some GPU's need a 6 pin, some need 6+2 pin (often called '8 pin'). Those may be redundant in your build, but for some GPU's they are needed.

You could also look into an external enclosure.
