Need help with a CPU

Go to solution Solved by Whiro,

I know very little about new Ryzen cpus unfortunately so I can’t give you advice on that.

I have a ryzen 5 1600 and did a light over clock to 3.75 GHz. I kept the voltage on auto because there was no need to increase it. I ran a stress test and the overclock was stable. When I run any stress test the cpu doesn't exceed 3.71GHz in task manager and 3.741 in CPU-Z. Even when I brought the voltage up it dosnt exceed that clock speed. If I bring the clock speed to 3.8 for example it will go above 3.71 but not 3.8.

because BCLK is not precisely at 100MHz, but slightly lower. Normal behavior.

not watching the voltage is dangerous though, no idea on what the board will decide to use in auto.

I’m sure if you check cpu speeds in bios it’ll show correctly. I have same situation with my cpu so nothing to worry about
