High Res High Refresh - Thunderbolt
Go to solution
Solved by Mira Yurizaki,
Assuming 24-bit per color channel, 144Hz 1440p requires:
2560 (H pixels) x 1440 (rows of pixels) x 3 (bytes per pixel) x 144 (frames per second) = 1,592,524,800 bytes per second / 2^30 bytes per GiB = ~1.48 GiB/sec * 8 bits per byte = ~11.86 Gbps.
tl;dr, it takes about 11.86 Gbps per 1440p 144Hz stream. So theoretically it should be fine.
