Reinstall windows after upgrade?

Just upgraded my i7 3770 to an ryzen 7 3700x. Windows seems to load fine but I am finding games like battlefield v are very slow to load and when playing the game freezes for a half a sexond and the fps sre down as well. Should I reinstall windows?

I've not reinstalled windows in years. My laptop install as been thru at least 4 machines at this point, most recent switch from an Intel 6200u to a Ryzen 2500U.

 

My desktop i've just switched from a 4570 i5 to a 3700x, and i just cloned the old SSD over to the new NVMe drive and away it went.

 

It all just works.

I only do if it Windows makes me or I want a larger boot drive. 

Could try it but chances are it was something else but will be reinstalled anyway.

Done a fresh install and still suffering from stuttering when playing games

While Windows 10 is much more capable of 'still working' after drastic hardware changes than older versions, completely switching platforms like that I would just do a fresh clean install for stability sake, even if it seems to mostly work. It can still keep drivers for the old hardware loaded, etc (in Device Manager enable View Hidden Devices and you'll see what i mean).

Isn’t a Windows issue then unless it was a corrupt install which has happened to me. 

 

Maybe its the new hardware and settings.
