eGPU lag?

Alright well it's come that time of year again that I get the urge to mess around with an eGPU setup. I have my Razer Blade Stealth 2019 connected to an Aorus Game Box 1080, which is connected to a 1440p 60Hz monitor, and a 1080p 60Hz monitor. However I noticed things looked kinda laggy, and that when watching YouTube videos I was dropping a lot of frames. Went to testusfo and saw that I cannot get a browser sync at all, and when running this main display at 60Hz, it hovers around 52 to 54fps, and when running at 75Hz with GYSNC enabled it hovers around 62-64fps. It seems like a GTX 1080 should be more than enough to power one chrome window... I figure there must be something else going on here. I have so far disabled the built in MX150 entirely, made sure I was on the latest driver version, enabled and disabled GYSNC, and made sure that hardware acceleration was turned on in Chome. Anyone else have any ideas on what could be causing this lag?
